Quick thought...I have been talking to people, and it seems that many people not sure if they wil be able make a party scheduled for the day after Thanksgiving due to the fact of being away from home at relatives houses and such.   SOOOO, I am thinking that it might be better to have the second one December 15-16 as school finals will be over with (at least for HACC, I need input from those attending York and other institutions).  The advantage that I see with that date, is that there are no holidays within a week of that time so I hope/think more people/everybody would b able to make it.  Once again, I need feedback from people interested in attending, so I can figure out the best date.

The first party is still as scheduled.

Sincerely, Mr. BP

I have decided on the date........I am going to have TWO parties.  I have decided to have a party both dates.  The first party, it is important to note that this is a planning meeting.  This means that there will also be a period where gametypes, map rotations, tournament/seating format, will be discusses (instead of playing halo).  At least a good portion of the playing time will be devoted to testing gametypes, naming systems (yes I have one...so I will actually be able to tell who killed me ),  etc....mainly to iron out details for the second, larger (hopefully) party.

           SOOOOO

If you come to this first party, PLEASE BE COOPERATIVE AND FLEXIBLE WITH THE PURPOSE OF THIS "PARTY;" as it will be somewhat more structured, and will require cooperation among the attendees.

this party is at my house (see the  "interest's" bar on the left side of the screen).

I will post directions when I have time.

please RSVP by e-mail, in person, or phone (if you have my number).

Any questions, just ask.  Hope to see you guys there.

Sincerely, Mr. BP

Alright.  It seems as though there is alot of interest in having another large scale Halo party; so I am going to start laying down the planning stages for another one.

One idea I have been kicking around is that it would be cool to have more than the 16 simultaneous players.  This is now possible as I believe I know enough xbox owners to accommodate more players (having enough tv's is another issue).  There are several possible payoffs that I see to this format.  First off, rather than have heated discussions over what game type should be played, we could simply have 2 different games going at the same time with the players (divided by console) choosing which game type they would rather join.  Another possibility is the ability to have a mini tournament of sorts (teams would be assigned in a half hearted attempt to make some balance);  like 2v2 or 4v4, and the tournament would still have more than 2 rounds (example: 16 people into 4 teams creates only semifinals and finals...unless of course you want the complication of 2 playoff rounds); plus, the people/teams not currently playing, would have ample space, controllers, and systems to play/practice on.  Anyways, those are some of the ideas.  Some drawbacks would be that we would need some extra tvs, and a location that either has ample space or could temporarily have furniture removed/rearranged to make ample space.  My house would be a definite possibility as I have some fairly long ethernet cables, and as such, there are 4 possible rooms that could simultaneously be used (for those that know my house: the living room, the dining room, the sewing room, and the basement).

It would probably come out to about 5 dollars a person for food for snack and probably 2-3 meals.  Last time almost everybody put in about $8 I believe, and there ended up being 4-5 grocery bags of snack and appetizer food, and about $35-$40 left over (which I gave to my sister, the host, for use of the house and food preparation time).

I figure that the best time would be friday to saturday October 6-7 as that is when HACC is having fall break.  The other possible and (for me) good time, would be friday-saturday November 24-25 which is the Friday/Saturday immediately following Thanksgiving; this timeframe is when last years party was held and it might work better due to a longer lead time for planning and inviting (of course college students might have more homework due to it being closer to the end of the semester).

alright......WHAT I NEED TO KNOW FROM THE PEOPLE INTERESTED!!!

1.  What do you think about my multiple game idea?

2.  What do you have that you could you bring in the way of: A.  TVs.  B.  Xbox consoles.  C.  Xbox Controllers.  D.  Ethernet cables/networking equipment (I should have all that is needed, but I figure a backup list is good).  AND E.  Copies of Halo and/or Halo 2 (please specify which ones as not having enough copies of Halo 2 in particular has been a problem in the past).

3.  Would you like to host?...and if you do want too, how much space would you have? (I want to know my options).

4.  Which date is better....and if not better...WHICH ONE OF THE DATES COULD YOU ATTEND!!!

Alirght. I have had a new idea for this site.  At this point, I don't think anyone really reads or visits this site much anymore and I was going to have it removed.  However, I thought of another use for this site.  Recently there has been a rash of Halo/other multi player game parties and word has traveled sluggishly through word of mouth;  my idea is that if you are hosting (even on the spur of the moment...assuming it's gonna last awhile) such a party, post it here.  That way, there is a centralized place for Halo parties in  Lancaster County or surrounding areas...aka somthing you can direct your friends or  invitees to.  if you want the ability to post on this site, e-mail me either through this xanga or my other one, http://www.xanga.com/minasnoldo .  well anyway, that is my idea;  I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens, later.

Sincerly, Mr. BP
